PRODUCTION STUDIO

Moved in the late 80's from its original position of the ground floor complex up to
what were the bedrooms of the flat above Mercia's building.

The production studio is where I spent much of my time at Mercia,
I was responsible for the commercials. The local commercials were produced
at BRMB in Birmingham and sent via landline to this studio, national commercials
were received by satellite from SMS (Satellite Media Service) this was achieved by
SMS remote controlling the Sony D.A.T. recorder (which can be seen sitting on top of the desk)
many national programmes were also sent via SMS and recorded here.
